Glasheen National School Team Up With Kearys Toyota

The boys of 4th and 5th class from Glasheen B.N.S. have teamed up with Kearys Toyota to clean Cork Lough. The clean up is part of a special project the students of Glasheen have been working on with ECO-UNESCO, Ireland’s Environmental Education and Youth Organisation. The project involved a cleanup of the lake and surrounding areas, as well as the distribution of leaflets to local people, detailing the history of the lake and giving handy tips on how to keep the lake clean.

Toyota Ireland is an official partner of ECO-UNESCO, Ireland’s Environmental Education and Youth Organisation. ECO-UNESCO’s aims are to raise environmental awareness, understanding and knowledge of the environment among young people; to promote the protection and conservation of the environment; and to promote the personal development of young people through practical environmental projects and activities. Toyota Ireland’s support of ECO-UNESCO includes the provision of a Toyota Prius to the organisation, and the sponsorship of the ECO-UNESCO Club of the Year Award to be presented at the annual Youth Environmental Awards.
