In the recently published 2010 Which? Car Survey, Toyota and Lexus vehicles took the top four positions in the most reliable “used large car” category. In the “new large car” category, two Toyota vehicles also received top five placements.

Toyota Ireland has introduced a new Plug-in Prius Hybrid car to Ireland. Initially, as part of this demonstration programme, there will be three vehicles based in Ireland which will be placed with a number of leading Irish and multinational companies in order to test the vehicles under variable, everyday driving conditions.

Toyota today announced it is to buy $50m (£35m) of Tesla stock as part of a deal between the two firms to co-operate on the future development of electric vehicles and other engineering projects.
